Ripleys Orlando is located on the busy International Drive area south west of Orlando proper. The museum or 'oddotorium' as it's known, is an indoor attraction that will provide a few hours of diversion and interest.
The building itself is odd looking like it's sinking fast into the ground! It is supposedly falling into one of Florida's sinkholes. Inside the odd theme continues with hundreds of strange exhibits from around the world.
Robert Ripley was the man who started the Ripleys Believe It Or Not phenomenon. He travelled around the world in the 1920s and 1930s, across many different continents uncovering all things bizarre and weird. All discoveries are supposedly true, but yet almost unbelievable!
So, what will you find there?
- A human shrunken head
- An exhibit of the world's tallest man & shortest man
- Various optical illusions and oddities of science
- Strange human conditions - like a man with four eye balls, the world's longest nose, the human unicorn.
- Weird animal discoveries like the furry trout, the cow with two heads.
- Wooden carvings and art work from Africa including fertility statues, masks, and human skull ornaments!
