Blue Springs
State Park
Tranquil State Parks in Florida
A trip to Blue Springs State Park provides the
perfect
affordable family getaway from the tourist
throngs of Orlando.
Pack a picnic and your swimsuit and enjoy the
refreshing springs and Florida wildlife.
There’s plenty to see and do
here all year round.
You can come for a day trip or even stay for the weekend. The park has
over 35 miles of scenic hiking and biking trails that run alongside the
St. John’s river.

The fresh water springs are crystal clear and a
pleasant 72 degrees
year-round. Where the Blue Springs runs flow down to meet the St.
John’s river, you can go swimming and even bring an inner tube and
float down the runs! There are lots of spots to go diving and
snorkelling through underwater caves. It’s a great way to cool-off in
the heat of summer.
In winter the runs are closed to allow refuge for the West Indian
Manatee, a large marine mammal that makes its’ home here during
November to March. You can see them anytime between November 15th and
the end of April, although most Manatees are seen during December and
January, you can even call ahead and the rangers will tell you how many
are there.
