Adventure Island Tampa is one of the best water parks in Florida.
Florida water parks are a great way to spend the day enjoying the
sunshine and some exciting water slides.
Adventure Island is located in the city of Tampa across the street from
Busch
Gardens Florida theme park.

Slides
Paradise Lagoon
- pictured below is the perfect place to relax and soak up the Florida
sun.

Riptide -
racing slide with a maximum drop of 55ft. Grab a mat and race your
friends to the bottom.
Minimum height to ride - 42 ins.
Aruba Tuba -
a two person tube ride.
No minimum height to ride, but riders under 42 ins must wear a life
vest.
Calypso Coaster - a gentle one or two person tube ride in
open air flumes.
No minimum height to ride, but riders under 42 ins must wear a life
vest.
Caribbean Corksrew
- a fast twisting water slide inside a 230ft long tube.
Minimum height to ride - 48 ins.
Everglides
Minimum height to ride - 42 ins.
Gulf Scream
- get ready to scream! This is a 210ft long body slide where you can
reach speeds of 25mph.
Minimum height to ride - 48 ins.
KeyWest Rapids
- 2 person raft ride through twists turns and water fountains.
No minimum height to ride, but riders under 42 ins must wear a life
vest.
Runaway Rapids
- a body slide where you choose from 5 different slides.
Slides
1 & 2: Parent may ride with a small child in front. Slides 3,
4,
& 5: single riders only and no life vests allowed.
Wahoo Run -
a gentle multi-person raft ride through waterfalls, twist and turns in
a half flume.
No minimum height to ride, but riders under 42 ins must
wear a life vest.
Water Mocasin
- a fast twisting single person flume ride.
Minimum height to ride - 48 ins.
Splash Attack
-an area just for kids with climbing nets, bridges, water jets and
small slides.
Fabian's Fun Port
- just for young children (pictured above).
Adventure Island Tampa:
Opening Times
Adventure Island opens for the summer months only. In 2010, this water
park will open from mid March through October. It is closed every
winter - November through March. (For water parks in Florida that are

In general, the water park opens from 9am or 10am until 5pm or later.
It's advisable to check the operating hours for a particular day, using

Tickets
Tickets are not currently available on the Adventure Island website.
Updated ticket prices will be available closer to March 2010. However,
there are some e-ticket deals available now.
E-Tickets
Special e-tickets are now available for the 2010 season.
Weekday Passes are available for unlimited use from 22nd March 2010
through 9th June 2010. Visit the link below for full details.

Island tickets for 2010.
If you plan on visiting Busch Gardens, Tampa and Adventure Island, you
can buy a weekeday pass (Fun Card).
This pass allows you unlimited weekday access to Busch Gardens
Tampa until December 31st 2010 and Adventure Island until September 6th
2010.

From the south
- Travel north on I-75 until you pass the turn-off for I-4.
- Exit at Fowler Ave, which is #265.
- Stay left on the exit ramp - this will bring you to Fowler
Ave.
- Continue on Fowler then turn left on McKinley Drive. This
will be the first light after the University of South Florida main
entrance.
- Continue south on McKinley until you see the signs for
Adventure Island parking lot.
From the north
- Travel south on I-75 until you reach I-275 South.
- Exit on Fowler Ave, exit #51
- Continue 2 miles and turn right on to McKinley Drive.
- Continue south on McKinley until you see the signs for
Adventure Island parking lot.
From Orlando
- Travel westbound on I-4 until you reach I-75.
- Take I-75 north until you reach exit #265 for Fowler Ave
and the University of South Florida.
- Turn left on McKinley Drive. This will be the first light
after the University of South Florida main entrance.
- Continue south on McKinley until you see the signs for
Adventure Island parking lot.

Adventure Island Tampa - FAQs
Can I bring a cooler to
the water park?
Yes, you may bring a small cooler no larger than 15 inches wide and 15
inches high. Large coolers can be brought to the park and used in the
picnic pavillion just outside the main entrance to the water park.
There are no glass containers or alcoholic drinks allowed inside the
water park.
Should we bring our own
towels?
Yes, if you can it's a good idea to bring enough towels for your party.
You can store them in the lockers within the water park.
What should I wear?
Any bathing suits, shorts and t-shirts are allowed. Although you cannot
wear T-shirts on the body flume rides. It's advisable not to wear any
cut-off jeans or clothing with any belts, buckles or zips which
might get caught on the flumes and slides. Aqua socks are
permitted. It's a good idea to wear aqua socks or shoes around the
water park because the ground can get very hot.
How much is parking?
Cars and campers $10. Tour buses and motorcycles are free. Annual
passport holders also get free parking.
Can we rent a Cabana and
how much do they cost?
There are cabanas and beach huts available for rent inside the water
park.
Private cabanas include:-
- All day large locker
- Mini refridgerator
- 4x bottled water and 4x bottled soda
- 4x souvenir towels
- 2 sun loungers and 2 chairs
Prices are between $125 and $150 per day depending on the exact date
you want to visit. Annual passport holders can get discounts on the
cabana rental cost.
Chiki Hut Rental
includes:-
- 4x sun loungers
- Large all day locker
Prices for Chiki Huts are between $50 and $70 depending on the date you
visit.

When is the best time to
visit?
The peak of the summer months (June, July and August) are more likely
to be busy. Any US holiday will also be busy. View this theme park

Can we visit Adventure
Island and Busch Gardens in one day?
To make the most of your money, we would say it's going to be a rush to
visit both parks in one day. There is so much to do and see at Busch
Gardens, that could take a day alone. We recommend setting aside one
day for each park.
