Lake Eola Park
A Calm Oasis in Downtown Orlando
Located in the very heart of downtown Orlando, Lake Eola Park is a
great way to spend a relaxing day. Lake Eola Orlando is well-know among
the locals as a tranquil place to enjoy an afternoon away from the busy
theme parks. Orlando parks don't come much nicer than this!
The
best thing about a trip to Lake Eola is that it won't cost you a penny,
entrance is FREE. The park has a lake with a path that runs around its’
length, which is perfect for jogging, cycling and walking.
At the center of the lake is Lake Eola Fountain that's always flowing
and makes a lovely focal point. At night it’s illuminated and changes
color frequently. The other main focal points are the amphitheatre (for
live performances) and a Chinese pergoda.
As you take a stroll around the lake you’ll see lush tropical Florida
vegetation and flowers, native birds, geese, swans, squirrels and
lizards. To explore the lake, swan boat rentals are available from the
small Lake Eola Café kiosk.
Picnic tables are available if you prefer to bring a picnic. There
are play areas for young children too. Afterwards you can dine out at
the many good near-by restaurants that surround the park.
Every Sunday from 10am-5pm there's a Farmers Market held in the Park.
